My name is Holly and I am reviewing Music Now! tactile and audio book. This is my first review for Living Paintings so when I was given this book to review I couldn’t wait as I am a huge music lover, I literally do not go a day without listening to music. This book is great for teenagers that love music. I really enjoyed listening to the audio files and exploring the images provided. This book is really enjoyable and will definitely brighten up your day as well as give you useful information that you didn’t know.
The book explores different genres of music from the 1950’s to the present day. It really does fit all tastes of music. Also, if you are studying music possibly for GCSE or A-level you might find this book especially useful, I know I would have done whilst studying music at both levels throughout my education.
It covers many artists, from Elvis, to David Bowie, to Bob Marley, to The Spice Girls. It also talks about music in the present day such as Adele and Jessie J. It goes through how music has changed over the time and how online websites have helped shape the music industry.
Each audio file has an image to compliment it. For example, it includes images of artists such as Freddie Mercury and album covers such as David Bowie – Aladdin Sane. The images really do help explain the audio and the facts on the artists. They really grab the listener’s imagination and gain your interest. The book is really easy to listen to as well which is an added bonus. The book is split into audio guides, with each decade of music having its own audio file so listeners can pick and choose what they listen to.
I would definitely recommend this book for any teen that loves music or wants to widen their knowledge on different genres of music!
