About Our Work: Case Studies & Testimonials

A mother and her daughter discovering a Living painting

"...it's fantastic that we can have these books through the post and have up-to-date interesting ones sent to us. It's terrific."

"Living Paintings has made a huge difference to my daughter's life and I'd like to ask you to make a difference to other children's as well."

Living Paintings helps blind and partially sighted people share in the visual images that colour and inform all our lives. By doing this we not only open up a whole world of interest and enjoyment but also encourage visually impaired people to broaden their horizons, helping them to lead better, richer lives and overcome the isolation they experience. For children our work specifically supports the development of essential life skills – touch and listening, language and vocabulary, reading and communication, as well as the understanding of visual concepts such as colours, relative size and the representation of objects as raised images.

Read the stories of 3 of our library members and how our work has changed their lives.

Every year we receive thousands of letters and completed questionnaires from our library members. We value their comments enormously and they tell us their thoughts on the Albums, the children's Touch and Sound Packs and the general service we provide. This type of feedback helps us in many ways, including providing us with ideas for new products and ways in which we might expand and develop our work for the benefit our members in the future. Here are a selection of comments we have received recently.
