Comedian, actor and star of QI, Alan Davies, recently went into the studio to record the audio description for our Touch to See version of Hugless Douglas. He did a brilliant job of capturing the humour of this tale of a lovable brown bear cub called Douglas who’s in search of the perfect hug.
We invited our children’s author-in-residence and creator of Hugless Douglas, David Melling, to join Alan in the studio and recorded their chat. He also did this fabulous doodle for us (although Alan didn’t actually sit on Douglas’ lap – a touch of artistic licence there!).
They then shared stories about life as a children’s author, inspiration and why you shouldn’t be afraid to try your hand at drawing. Listen to highlights of their entertaining chat below:
