Hi Nathan here…
Below is a short summary of who, out of the 92 football league clubs can provide audio commentary for those who are attending the matches and have a visual impairment.
Below you are able to find out which clubs are able to provide live match commentary and whether specific seating is required. As a football supporter for the last 15 years myself, with sight and now blind, I am a firm believer that all football clubs should be able to offer visually impaired supporters an accessible option as well as freedom to be seated anywhere in the stadium.
Please note that some clubs have yet to respond. Also, at this current stage, there are no guarantees that the clubs commentary will be in time with play as this will depend on the system they have in place, this however excludes clubs using the service provided by SoccerSight.
Some clubs require a refundable cash deposit or debit card details to cover costs in the event of damaged headsets or failure to return the devices.
Proof of disability may be needed. (Blue badge does not qualify as proof of disability).
Please contact the clubs at least 48 hours before match day.
As of October 2014, only 44% of the 92 football league clubs are able to provide audio commentary.
