We are delighted to announce that Grove House Primary School in Bradford has won the Living Paintings Great Cake Bake Challenge. Well done to everyone at Grove House!
Our competition was, of course, inspired by the publication of the latest book from our great friend David Melling; Hugless Douglas and the Great Cake Bake.
David will be making a ‘virtual visit’ to Grove House Primary to talk to the children about how he creates his books and to give them a private preview of his latest project. We will also be sending them some of his wonderful books and pictures.
The school has a specialist resource centre for children with visual impairment, so they know how valuable our Touch to See books can be. Our thanks to the staff and children for taking part in the challenge to raise funds for Living Paintings, so that we can continue to support blind and partially sighted children throughout the UK. We understand that they undertook our challenge as part of a whole week of fundraising activities. Here are some of the children, both sighted and visually impaired, taking part in some of the other fun events they organised that week.
