Jim Carter has been working with Living Paintings for over 12 years… when he’s not on set down the road at Highclere filming Downton Abbey! We are really delighted that Jim is lending his voice to our BBC Radio 4 Appeal, which will be broadcast on Sunday June 15th.
Jim’s recorded audio guides for our Touch to See books for adults, children and teenagers. In fact I was in the studio with Jim the other day, recording the Skiffle script (he’s a big Lonnie Donegan fan) for our new tactile and audio book about pop and rock music, for blind teenagers.
In 2012 Jim hosted our fantastic feel-good fundraiser Indigo Rock. Here’s a photo of Jim on stage with LP teen library member Luca – there wasn’t a dry eye in the house when Luca sang ‘True Colours’ with the Rock Choir.
Jim sums it up,
“I have a daughter, and bedtime reading was a special part of her childhood for both of us. We’d sit together and look closely at the pictures while we read the story. I support Living Paintings because I want blind and partially sighted children to share the joy of picture books, just like my daughter did.
Donate today and join me in supporting this vital charity. With your help we can ensure that blind and partially sighted children receive free all the tactile and audio books they need.”
Please Listen and Donate!
