Living Paintings celebrates Euro 2012 wth new release
June 12, 2012

Excitement is building following the start of the Euro 2012 Championship and Englands 1-1 draw with France, our next match is on Friday 15th June against Sweden. Sadly Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland did not qualify. England last competed in this tournament in 2004.

The host nations, Poland and Ukraine, have worked hard to provide new or renovated stadiums and all the necessary improvements have been made to airports, transport systems and hotels. Eight cities (four in each country) will be the venues for these thrilling games.

We hope the fans of all nations will come to these events in a spirit of goodwill – appreciating the skill of the players who ever they represent. May the best team win!

We have a new book about football for children coming to our library shelves very soon– Michael Foreman’s Wonder Goal!  The book captures the thrill of a boy scoring a goal then dreaming of becoming a famous footballer and scoring another wonder goal. Michael includes sketches of football games he has seen in the most surprising places all round the world. Email the library if you would like to pre-order this book.

We have another exciting Touch to See book in production – Football, the scripts have been written by Clive Gifford. Clive helped us produce our Olympics and Paralympics pack and now we are really fortunate that he is helping us again. He has written 11 books on football – so I think he’s the right man for the job!  We’re all looking forward to that coming onto our shelves.
