Louie brings The Gruffalo to life for other blind children
May 28, 2012

We are proud to announce the publication of extra copies of The Gruffalo, The Gruffalo’s Child and Five Little Ducks. Young library member, Louie Titre, raised funds to make more Touch to See copies of these popular children’s picture book favorites.

Here’s a message from Louie

“Hello my name is Louie and I’m a young library member at Living Paintings. I like Living Paintings books because they give my hands something to do and bring the story to life even though I can’t see the pictures. Living Paintings make the pictures big and raised so I can feel them with my hands.

I really look forward to new books coming in the post and get very excited when they arrive.I have raised money for Living Paintings so that they can make more books for children like me.

I raised money by holding friendship discos at my school, Peartree Spring Infant’s. I also collected donations at our Christmas play where I played Rudolph the Red nosed Reindeer.

The money I raised has been used to make more copies of my 3 favourite Library books. I chose The Gruffalo and The Gruffalo’s Child to be adapted because I think they are fun books and I chose Five Little Ducks because I love ducks”

Living Paintings would like to say a big thank you to Louie and his brilliant fun fundraising activities. We hope you enjoy these stories, click here to order now.
