Maxine Peake describes playing Hamlet
August 3, 2016

Maxine Peake is an acclaimed stage actor, well-known for  portraying strong women in serious dramatic productions. In 2014 she performed in a radical re-working of Hamlet for the Royal Exchange Theatre in Manchester, in which she played the lead role and many of the other  male characters were also played by women. The production was phenomenally successful and the run was extended due to unprecedented demand for tickets.

Listen to Maxine as she take us behind-the-scenes, sharing insights into how she and Director Sarah Frankcom created an androgynous Hamlet for the production.
