Making the tactile pictures for Mole’s Sunrise
January 21, 2011

The line drawings that Candice drew of the characters and scenes in the book were sent to Peter Boex so that he could carve the feely pictures.

Peter is a sculptor and has been supporting Living Paintings for many years. Peter lives and works in Cornwall. For more information about Peter visit his website at www.peterboex.com

Listen to Peter describe the carvings he makes for Living Paintings.

The completed carvings are then pressed in our thermoform press by volunteers.

Watch volunteer Simon Peel press the Mole’s Sunrise carvings.

At the moment, volunteers are busy painting the plastic feely pictures for Mole’s Sunrise.

A big thank you to Humbrol who donate all our paints and continue to support our Living Picture Book Projects.
