Life in the Fast Lane: The Arrival of ‘Super Transport’
October 29, 2013

New to the Living Paintings library, our exciting Touch to See publication ‘Super Transport’, is proving hugely popular with our library members, and is ‘on track’ for being a favourite with children and young teens alike.

One of our young library members, Ethan, wrote to us to let us know that he really enjoyed this publication. In particular, he thought “the music, pictures and descriptions were fantastic!”

Of course we totally agree with Ethan. This tactile book contains tactile pictures of superfast, superhero and super efficient vehicles including the Ducati motorbike, McLaren Formula 1 racing car, Air Ambulance helicopter, Eurofighter Typhoon and New London Bus (remember the Top Gear episode in which James May drove one of these and really enjoyed it?). TV presenter Dallas Campbell lends his voice to the exciting audio guide which includes picture descriptions, amazing facts and stats, vehicle sound effects and a contemporary music soundtrack.

Below is a tactile picture from ‘Super Transport’ depicting the wonderful Lotus Sport Pursuit Bicycle; it has an aerodynamic shape which makes the bike go superfast in the velodrome!

As a bit of a taster for this unique publication, here’s a YouTube video that we’ve made with Dallas Campbell. By his own admission, Dallas has a ‘passion for science and technology’, and because of this passion he is the perfect person to be the voice of our ‘Super Transport’ publication.
