Our famous volunteers – from television, film & radio!
February 6, 2013

Following on from last week’s post, here are some more famous personalities who happily found time in their busy schedule to volunteer for Living Paintings! If you enjoy them on the TV and radio, you’ll love listening to them in our books.

Julian Fellowes is receiving a number of awards for ‘Downton Abbey’ at the moment and also exploring ‘Country Houses’ on ITV. Catch him talking about famous teddy bear Aloysius in our Teddy Bears book.

Funny man and actor Alan Davies is a regular panel member on popular quiz show ‘QI’. He lends his voice to the children’s scary tale Billy Monster’s Daymare. Alan is currently filming a special episode of ‘Jonathan Creek’, which also stars Joanna Lumley – another Living Paintings volunteer – whom you can enjoy talking about paintings from The Royal Collection.

Great British actor Timothy Spall is doing a star turn as Lord Emsworth in ‘Blandings’ – essential hilarious Sunday teatime viewing on the BBC. He’s also our ‘Captain’ in Explore the Seashore – which is a ‘Coast’ for kids!

Kate Humble is currently traversing the globe in her TV show ‘Orbit: Earth’s Extraordinary Journey’. Kate’s love of wildlife shines through in her reading for our book British Wildlife.

If you prefer listening to the radio why not check out Lauren Laverne DJ on BBC6 Music, Monday to Friday 10am-1pm. Lauren has lent her voice to several of our books, including the well loved classic The Gruffalo’s Child.
