I’m delighted to have been asked to become a Trustee at Living Paintings. I’m currently the Director of Digital Marketing, Europe, for Cushman & Wakefield LLP but it was during my time working at Bupa that I first got introduced to Camilla Oldland (CEO of Living Paintings) and her team at Living Paintings. Stuart Fletcher, CEO Bupa, made the introductions and the rest is history as they say!.
I’ve since continued to advise and work with Living Paintings for one simple reason: the work they do makes a significant difference to so many families.
Having two children myself I know how important it is to make time to read to them at night. And while sometimes I can’t always make it home on time, my two girls read a book each every night before bed without fail. However, it’s also very easy to take this simple activity for granted. When I learnt about Living Paintings and the fantastic work they do I knew right away that I wanted to try and help. I’ve been very fortunate at home and with my career so I wanted to give something back. And Living Paintings is a great charity to do this through.
The world of digital can offer Living Paintings so much in the years ahead. From greater brand awareness, more online self-service tools, new online revenue opportunities, mobile experiences…plus so much more.
What makes Living Paintings even more special is the fact that they operate under tight budget conditions and rely totally on donations. Yet, they continue to provide such a high quality service to members. If you’ve seen the books then you’ll know what I’m referring to. Each book is very carefully produced with so much effort and workmanship behind each one. The Living Paintings team are individuals who care passionately about their work.
I’ve recently had my first Trustee meeting which was a great way to learn a little more in relation to what’s going on behind the scenes. Now it’s time to get stuck in and make every effort to help Living Paintings become even more successful.
