Hi Tori here,
We often forget about the stunning architecture around us in the UK and especially when it is right on are door step. Having grown up in the North Yorkshire I was privileged to live a stones throw away from one of the largest and most impressive medieval castles, Raby Castle, County Durham.
Before you enter the magical world inside the castle you will find yourself lost in the 200 arces of parkland land with its ornamental lakes and herds of deer. During my visit I found myself walking around the picturesque walled gardens admiring the stunning roses.
I was amazed to find how knowledgeable and friendly the tour Guides where which helped bring the history to life with guided tours of the halls and chambers which house fabulous interiors, art collections and dramatic architecture.
After my tour around the castle I headed to the Coach Houses Carriage Collection which houses a collection of 18th and 19th century coaches and carriages. The Coach Houses are located next to the tea room in the old stables, where you will find the name plaques on the stalls which once housed the horses.
