As a loyal Reading Football Club supporter, I have been following their ups and downs this season. I have to say it has not been very inspiring so far. However, there is one bright spot on the horizon – they have somehow reached the semi-finals of the FA Cup.
Could it be that the recently-appointed Manager, Steve Clarke, is beginning to work out the right formula for the team, or could it be the acquisition of the striker Yakubu that has made the difference? We have a slogan “feed the yak and he will score” and indeed he scored a crucial goal to get us into the quarter finals. It wasn’t a pretty match last Saturday against Bradford but very dramatic, ending in a goal-less draw.
The replay on Monday where Reading beat Bradford 3-0 means they will be playing at Wembley Stadium for the first time since 1927. Go Reading!
