The David Brooke Charity Sponsor new Touch to See title for Living Paintings’ Library
September 22, 2014

slightly annoying elephant book coverWe were delighted to learn this month that The David Brooke Charity have chosen to generously sponsor a new Touch to See title for Living Paintings’ Children’s Library.  The book will be the wonderfully warm and funny picture book ‘The Slightly Annoying Elephant’ by David Walliams and Tony Ross.

Since 2008 David Walliams has taken the children’s literary world by storm, and his books have achieved unprecedented critical acclaim.  Both ‘Ratburger’ and ‘Demon Dentist’ won the National Book Awards Children’s Book of the Year.

Illustrator Tony Ross has been described by Books Magazine as “a master at capturing the humour in childhood”.  Living Paintings has already created Touch to See versions of two other books by Tony Ross, ‘Dr Xargle’s Book of Earthlets’, and ‘Misery Moo’, so whilst you wait to loan ‘The Slightly Annoying Elephant’, visit our online library to order these now!

We are so grateful to Trustee Mr Nigel Brooke for his interest in Living Paintings, and to his fellow Trustees at The David Brooke Charity for choosing to continue their kind and loyal support of our work.  When this book has been created (with the help of our many wonderful Volunteers), 30 copies will be available to loan to our 4,700 child library members throughout the UK, and we know it will be a hit!
