A lot has happened since my last blog, so my fingers are going to have to have a good workout! Which reminds me….. I have missed my third session at yoga last night in the last month as I have been out and about so much. I share a session with my colleagues here in the office and it feels great (when I have done a session that is!).
As I have been so busy I don’t tend to be in the office on Tuesdays and yesterday I was meeting with a prospective partner organisation based in Portland, near Weymouth all the way down in Dorset. This organisation provides advice and counselling. They also run various groups for the community and are involved in several projects.
The weather was great yesterday and I was blessed with blue skies, so as I drove along the long road joining Weymouth and Portland I had a beautiful view of Chesil Beach. All I could see were dog lovers everywhere exercising their best friend. Tails were on full throttle. From a distance they looked like quick moving fluffy bundles of joy flicking across the stones. I wanted to run with them. Once I had arrived in the town of Portland I was surprised to find it so hilly, really tested my cars handbrake.
Whilst I was there not only did I manage to meet the Portland Centre Team I also managed to arrange another meeting with Outlook Children’s Centre and spoke to them about Living Paintings children’s books and teenage range. They had a wonderful, spacious meeting room which would be ideal for a group meeting, so perhaps another possible venue for a T2C Book Club.
I really look forward to hearing more from Gill, the CEO at the Portland Centre, she was wonderful and very much understood the benefits of our Clubs. Fingers crossed everyone this could be our most southerly T2C Book Club so far!
