A Book Club in Birmingham
September 4, 2015

Hi, Maria here.

This week my travels have taken me to two places. One is the home of Cadbury, the other has the largest ice cream factory in the UK! To be honest I didn’t actually eat any chocolate or ice cream, which is very unusual, but I will make up for it next week, I’m sure!

So, does anyone know which places I visited? They are both cities – one is also famous for racing whilst the other has a Bullring. I think that gave it away. I went to Cheltenham and Birmingham.

Whilst I was in Birmingham I visited a lovely Club called St Peter’s Walk-in Group. I carried out a demonstration and talked about life in Birmingham (see the photograph below) A couple of children were also attending the session and so it was fortunate I took along the Book Club pack on Famous Teddy Bears. Everyone loved it.

Whilst I was in Cheltenham I visited the main library and Insight Gloucestershire who have a wonderful resource centre packed with information and equipment. They kindly said that they would also be happy to display some of Living Paintings resources and publicise the new Touch to See Book Club starting up in the Cheltenham area.

If you live in the Cheltenham area and would like to help this Club get off the ground, please contact me. I would love to hear from you. I am also interested to hear from anyone who wants to join as a member. Please call me on 01635 299771.

‘Til next time!
