Hi, Danni here.
Well, the football season is fast drawing to a close but there is a lot of work to do for Reading’s Manager, Steve Clark. The team just about managed to stay out of the relegation zone and finished the season with a surprising 3-0 victory over Derby. Why couldn’t they have played to that standard more often?
The highlight of the season was the FA Cup semi-final against Arsenal when they were absolutely brilliant and gave the Arsenal Manager a bit of a fright. One small mistake by our goalkeeper let Arsenal into the match and finally Reading were defeated by 2 goals to 1. We were so close to getting to the final!
Unfortunately I wasn’t able to go to Wembley but I understand there was a fantastic atmosphere and the Reading fans were thrilled by their team’s performance.
Now we must look ahead to next season. I still haven’t heard any news of which players are staying or going but I think changes must be made if we are to stand a chance of promotion to the premiership next season.
I hope the new Thai owners will put their hands in their pockets and invest some money so that we can get some good quality players to get us off to a good start in August. In the meantime, I shall get my football fix from the last few remaining matches especially the FA Cup final between Arsenal and Aston Villa – no surprises as to whom I will be supporting!
