We are delighted to announce the latest title in our Young Explorers: Forest School series, which is available to borrow NOW. Wild About Bushcraft is packed with advice, information and inspiration to get you out and about exploring the great outdoors. Musician, presenter and author Cerys Matthews has recorded some of the tracks for you and is delighted to support the publication.

Cerys Matthews

As co-founder of the Good Life Experience festival, Cerys is passionate about the great outdoors and believes that everyone should have the chance to experience getting close to nature. Listen to Cerys talking about the joys of exploring the natural world:

You will find all sorts of practical advice in this Touch to See book, such as how to build a leaf hut, light a campfire and collect and store water. We’ve also included an introduction to tying knots and provided a handy gadget for you to try out your newfound skill.

Whether you’re planning your first expedition to the countryside or you’re more experienced and want to try a wild camping trip, there will be something for you here. And we have, of course, included ideas for cooking outdoors, fun activities around the campfire and further things you might like to try.

If you’re still not sure, Cerys has some great reasons for giving bushcraft a go.
